Sleep Study

A sleep study is used to detect sleep disorders. It consists of sleeping with special equipment attached to the patient. During sleep, recording of breathing, body movements and brain wave activity is done. This helps diagnose conditions such as sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, sleep paralysis and others.

Persistent fatigue that some patients are experiencing are caused by abnormal sleep. Addressing these conditions properly may improve daily fatigue and significantly improve quality of life.

Sleep apnea can also contribute to memory and concentration problems, high blood pressure and complicated heart and pulmonary conditions.

A sleep study may also help diagnose other neurological sleep disorders.
