Neurocognitive & Neuropsychological
Evaluation
In order to understand the patient’s symptoms that involve memory, learning, attention and to properly classify them into specific disorders, special tests of neurocognitive evaluations are done. They can be done as computerized testing in the office for approximately 45 minutes. However sometimes it is necessary to see neuropsychologist and to have a full neurocognitive and psychological evaluation.
After the cognitive and/or psychological problem is diagnosed, treatment may include prescription medications, cognitive rehabilitation, neurofeedback or psychological counseling.
Although sometimes this process may feel time-consuming, long term benefits of a correct diagnosis may save lots of time, unnecessary tests and future treatments.
