MRI/CT Brain & Spine

MRA/CTA are similar tests that are primarily used to image blood vessels in the brain. This may detect blockages, occlusions, aneurysm, inflammation, blood clots and others.

MRI and CT are imaging tests that are frequently used on patients with neurological symptoms. Getting images of the brain or spine may detect many neurological conditions, including disk disease of the spine, strokes, tumors, vascular anomalies, multiple sclerosis, inborn anomalies of the brain and many others.

it is important to understand that many conditions in neurology may not be explained by just imaging the brain or spine. However a MRI may also help exclude suspected conditions and point to others.

If imaging requires injecting contrast, patient may need to have a blood test first to prevent potential complications from contrast.
