Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is disorder that affect white matter of the Central nervous system due to autoimmune inflammation.Over time it may cause degeneration and permanent damages of the nervous system. It may have many different symptoms: blurry vision,numbness, weakness, fatigue or gait difficulties.

It requires comprehensive neurological evaluation that usually includes imaging with MRI, evoked potentials and laboratory analysis. Treatments include disease modifying therapies and symptomatic treatments.

Physical, occupational and cognitive rehabilitation are often necessary for optimal results.

Therapy needs to be individualized and recent progress in the research and discovery of new drugs provides more choices that can be offered to the patients.
